Hudson Grove A.M.E. Zion Church · Established 1888
Generations of faith, fellowship, and service in the Indian Trail community.
A lasting foundation
Hudson Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church began on November 17, 1888, when J. M. and Margaret Price, Amy Price, and R. A. Hudson donated land to the church trustees for $20.
The original trustees were Saufrow Houston, Winfield Buchanan, and Wilson May. The congregation first worshiped near Twelve Mile Creek, laying the foundation for the church community that continues today.

Through the years
From the church's first gathering place to its present home, each generation has helped carry the mission forward.
Land is donated to the trustees for $20, and the congregation begins worshiping near Twelve Mile Creek.
Rev. R. B. Bennett builds a new church, where the congregation worships after its early years by the creek.
The church purchases 2.10 acres in 1970, breaks ground in 1979, and reconstructs the building in 1984 under church and denominational leadership.
Renovations bring new carpeting, an altar and kneeling rail, pews, pulpit furnishings, and other finishes.
