Reverend Demetra S. Manns-Marsh has been the pastor of Hudson Grove AME Zion Church since June 1, 2025. Additionally, she serves as the Wadesboro-Monroe District Director of Music.
Affectionately referred to as "Pastor Dee," she is also the Executive Director of Amongst Friends, a nonprofit organization that offers home and community-based services in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area, with a focus on supporting individuals with disabilities. Prior to founding Amongst Friends, she gained extensive experience working with various agencies that assist both youth and adults dealing with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as other mental health issues.
Pastor Dee originates from Bassett, VA, and was educated within the Henry County School System. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. Furthermore, she has completed the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Teaching Residence Exceptional Children Adapted Curriculum Program and is actively engaged in philanthropic efforts and entrepreneurial ventures.
She is married to Danny Ray Marsh and is the proud mother of two wonderful children, Danyelle Marsh and Demetrius Marsh. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, crafting, reading, and cherishing moments with her family.
Her inspiration is drawn from Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
